Fort Lyndon is the REDSEC battleground players will live on through Season 4 — including new water-focused POIs and a carrier beat in Phase 2. Drops decide half the match before the first fair gunfight.

Ranked vs casual drop philosophy

PlaylistPriority
RankedPlacement RP + squad survival (especially with S4 RP rules)
Casual BRLearning POIs, hot-drop mechanics, loadout experiments
Gauntlet / eventsMode rules first — don’t import ranked drop habits blindly

Season 4 ranked removed heavy armor; your drop no longer needs a keycard storyline. Prioritize early guns, armor plates, and rotate options.

Three drop archetypes

1. Hot POI (high variance)

Reactor complexes, dense interiors, and other named landmarks. High loot density, high third-party rate. Great for aim practice; terrible if your top-10 rate is already low.

2. Contested mid

Second-circle edge of a major POI. You still fight, but third parties arrive later. Best default for duos/squads climbing Bronze–Gold.

3. Edge / water path

Boats and shoreline lines (more relevant as naval toys spill between modes). Lower early loot, higher control of when you take your first real fight.

Season 4 map evolution to plan around

From official Q&A and roadmap notes:

  • Ongoing new POIs on Fort Lyndon
  • Carrier POI / water gameplay ramping in Season 4 Phase 2
  • Phantom Program Easter-egg challenges later in the season

If you only know three buildings from Season 3, schedule a casual night to re-scout before ranked blocks.

Prove the drop with numbers

Feelings lie; placements don’t. After 25 games on one drop plan, check RedSec on BattleStats:

  • Top 10 rate up, wins flat → endgame practice needed
  • Wins up, K/D down → smarter fights, keep it
  • Kills up, top 10 down → you are the third party that dies fourth

Squad roles on drop

  • Scout — first building clear, call density
  • Loot lead — ammo/armor economy
  • Anchor — holds rotate node / boat / high ground
